The first phase of a perfect car detailing requires a deep cleaning (strictly touchless) of the exterior to remove the most intense dirt.

Decontamination

During everyday life the car is subject to lots of dirt and contaminations that interact with the protective layers. They are divided into inorganic (smog, traffic film, tar, rust and ferrous residues, limestone, glues) and organic (mud, plant resins, insects). Innovacar products work through a mechanical, chemical and organic decontamination to prepare the car for the next stages.

To complete the washing phase it is necessary to achieve perfectly clean surfaces. Here the foams and detergents remove all dirt particles still present on the body. Always use 2 buckets with grid: one with water and shampoo, one with only water for rinsing.

Next is a careful drying step using very soft microfiber cloths and, if possible, compressed air to remove water from critical points.

A particularly tricky phase that requires a deep preliminary decontamination and a precise approach to the removal of swirls and marks.

Protection

The protection and finishing phase of the bodywork is important to make the result obtained in the previous phases long-lasting. A top layer is applied on all surfaces to make them resistant to air pollution, water, dirt, aging, sun, UV rays and even micro scratches.

Glass cleaning is the last step and is essential to create a hydro-oleophobic barrier that makes water slide away and prevents contaminations from sticking.

Interior in 4 steps

Vacuum, clean, protect and finish on the glass. Specific products for leather, fabrics, plastics and Alcantara®, without harming the materials.

The first step to clean the interior is to remove most of the dirt by carefully vacuuming all surfaces, especially carpets, mats and seats. Help yourself with the Hard Brush: thanks to its stiff bristles it removes dirt from the hardest-to-reach areas.

Cleaning

The second step focuses on surface cleaning: with specific products you remove daily use dirt and all accumulated impurities. Treat the surfaces in direct contact with the body (steering wheel, gear knob, seats and mats) and the general ones (roof lining, dashboard, door panels). Cleaning all interior surfaces preserves the quality and longevity of the materials and gives a healthy environment.

Protection

Protection applies to plastics, fabrics and leather, inside and outside the car. A protective layer is created on the surfaces, making them resistant to air pollution, water, dirt, aging, sun, UV rays and even micro scratches.

As for the exterior, cleaning the glass is the last step: this way you wipe off the dirt coming from the previous treatments only once.

    Great for both outdoor and indoor surfaces. Clean the 2 sides of the glass in opposite directions to recognize where a further step is necessary. Diluted 1:10 it becomes an excellent scented APC.

Start with a deep wash

To break up the most stubborn dirt, follow this sequence: SP1 prewash, iron decontamination with D1 and, if necessary, resin and tar decontamination with D3. After the limescale decontaminating wash with DS, drying is finished with the protective action of W1.

From now on, washing is quick and easy

The maintenance wash guarantees a result equal to the deep cleaning: SP1 prewash followed by a neutral wash with S2. Finish drying with the XXL cloth. We suggest a maximum of 3 of these washes in a row.

Every now and then, a decontamination cycle

It removes the traces accumulated in short-term use. Always start with the SP1 prewash, then the SD1 decontaminating shampoo for iron residues, then wash with the DS limescale decontaminant. Rinse and dry with the XXL cloth.

For the best result, use H2O Coat and/or W1 Quick Detailer at the end of maintenance and decontaminating washes.The cycle is a general guide for normal vehicle use. Talk to our team to adapt the treatments to your case.

What detailers ask us most often about the range and the 7-step method.

In what order should I use the Innovacar products for a full wash?

Follow the 7 steps of the method: touchless prewash (SP1), decontamination (D1 for iron, D3 for tar, DS for limescale, clay bar or clay mitt with DL Lube), wash (S2 with two buckets), drying (Micron XXL cloths and H2O Coat), polishing (F1, A1, P1 depending on the marks), protection (SC0/SC1 sealants, SC2/SC5 dressings) and finally the glass (SC3 Glass Sealant).

How often should I do a deep cleaning?

The recommended cycle for normal use is 1 wash every 10 to 14 days: a deep cleaning (SP1 + D1 + D3 + DS + W1), then three maintenance washes (SP1 + S2), a decontaminating wash (SP1 + SD1 + DS) and three more maintenance washes before repeating the deep cleaning.

What is the difference between D1 Iron and SD1 Iron Thixo Rapid?

D1 Iron is a pH-neutral decontaminating gel that changes colour as it reacts with iron residues, for full decontamination. SD1 Iron Thixo Rapid combines iron remover and shampoo in one product, with a thixotropic function that gains density on vertical surfaces, designed for the decontaminating wash of the maintenance cycle.

Can I dilute 100% Degreasing for interiors?

Yes. Undiluted it is ideal for insects, rims, tires, engine compartment, rubber and plastics. Diluted 1:10 to 1:12 it works on interiors and delicate parts, applied with the Foamer on cloths or brushes.

Are the shampoos safe on cars with a sealant or ceramic coating?

S2 Foamy and S2 Foamy Color are pH neutral, with enzymes, and do not strip the applied protection. For maintenance between protections, S1 Wash & Coat washes and boosts the sealant in one pass, and H2O Coat or W1 Quick Detailer at the end of the wash extend the hydrophobic effect.

Which lubricant do I use with the clay bar and clay mitt?

DL Lube, formulated for safe and fast mechanical decontamination. Lubricate the surface well, work in small areas and choose the clay bar grade (Soft, Medium or Forte) according to the level of contamination; the clay mitt is the more comfortable option for large areas.

How do I confirm the surface is ready for polishing or sealing?

With D2 Check: it removes oils and greases and reveals halos and residues. Use it before and during polishing and, always, before applying SC3 Glass Sealant or the ceramic coatings.

Are the Base Coat, Top Coat and Hybrid Coat ceramic coatings sold online?

No. The SiNH line (Base Coat 9H, Top Coat 5H and Hybrid Coat 7H) is reserved for Innovacar authorized centers. If you run a detailing center and want to apply ceramics, request a quote and we will talk about authorization.

Which sizes are available for professional use?

Most liquids come in 500 ml or 1000 ml and in 4.54 L for high-volume operations, such as SP1, S2, 100% Degreasing, H2O Coat, W1 and X2. D2 Check and SC2 Dressing also come in 5 L. On this page every size shows whether it is in stock in the store.

Are the products biodegradable?

The Innovacar range is developed with plant-origin surfactants and completely biodegradable enzymes, and the products are formulated to work in symbiosis, with the pH suited to each step. All are made in Italy by Fra-Ber.
